Bearing 607/8-2Z vs. 698-2Z
« on: October 20, 2012, 02:15:21 PM »
Hello Wheel Design Group,

With this posting I would like to set the focus on the bearing.

As far as I can see you've chose the specification 607/8-2Z with the dimension 8x6x19. It seems that this bearing is not very popular and that means we have to pay round about 2,50 EUR for one bearing.

I had a look to EBAY and found the specification 698-2Z with the same dimension 8x6x19. I think it's produced especially for roller skates, but nevertheless you will get 20 bearings for round about 15 EUR, which means 75 ct for one bearing (50 bearings costs ~ 30 EUR = 60 ct for each one).

What do you think?
Should we use the 698-2Z instead of the 607/8-2Z?
Do you see any problems in case we change the specification?

Your answer would be helpful ...

Thanks a lot!

Many greetings

Hello Heinz and train family,

for the bearings the only specification we need is the dimension 8x6x19. So there are no problem if you found a cheaper 698-2Z and will use it instead of the 607/8-2Z. This is a good news for us too!! ;)

Greetings

Michele

Hello Michele,

Thanks a lot for the quick answer.

Maybe you find the time to add the 698-2Z bearing also to the part list of your drawings (--> assale xxx) ...

Many greetings
